Soulstone Ceremony
Ritual performance with vocal and drum. Materials: sand, sealskin, wood, stones, candles, flowers, water, soil.
Soulstone Ceremony honours the artwork as a being. In this performative ceremony, my animist worldview is woven together with the artworks. The ceremony invites the audience into a space where materiality, spirit, and creation are not alienated from our own being or from our communities. Rather, it is something that makes us soften and open to the unseen dimensions of our reality.
The gallery space becomes a sacred container for our communities where weaving soulful connections with the more-than-human, and our ancient heathen animist traditions, can coexist with our contemporary life.
